Remembering Season

From the end of October through to mid November we have a season for remembering and reflecting. In recent years this has been punctuated with our Service of Personal Remembrance and by commemorating the sacrifice of those who died in war.

At last years's service of personal remembrance we had over 100 names to read out so this year we have decided to hold two services to remember those who have passed away.
The first is our Service of Personal Remembrance on Sunday 27th October at 4.00pm. This is for remembering people who have died in recent years. Then the following week we will hold an All Souls Requiem Mass on Sunday 3rd November at 6.00pm. This is to remember those people who have died but still have a very special place in our hearts.

Unsure which service to attend? No one can be prescriptive about grief and in what way of for how long we may grieve. Our Service of Personal Remembrance is for those for whom grief still feels raw. Grief can move to a different place—we still feel the loss, but we call to mind the treasured memories in our hearts. This is what the All Souls Requiem Mass aims to reflect. As usual we will have lists where your can provide the name of the person you would like remembered nearer the time of those services.

Our Remembering season will come to an end with our Remembrance Sunday Family Eucharist at 9.30am on Sunday 10th November with an Act of Remembrance around the War Memorial in the churchyard with two minutes silence at 11am.
