Student Placement at HT

Part of our mission here is to support the work of the wider church in all sorts of different ways. We are delighted that a priest in training, Steven Hilton, is going to be joining us on a Sunday placement during the coming year. Steve is resident at Cuddesdon theological college and just beginning his time there. We will meet him on October 15 when he worships with us for the first time. He is on a different pathway as an ordinand to Nigel. For those in residential training a Sunday placement is about watching and listening to the life of a parish church and worshipping alongside us in term-time, rather than the rugged, hands-on training that we are giving Nigel! Please help Steve and his partner Marco to feel welcome within our community.

Steve writes: I’m a first year ordinand at Ripon College Cuddesdon having just moved from South London (Diocese of Southwark) with my Civil Partner, Marco, and also our 18-month old pug, Nelson, and four rescued battery hens (who already give us ample eggs!). I’m also a magistrate in Westminster, a Freeman of the City of London and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts. I am really delighted to be joining the worshipping community at Holy Trinity in Prestwood as I begin my first Sunday placement. It’s a great opportunity for me to be part of a different team and to experience other types of church as I worship alongside you. I graduated in theology/RS in 2001 and have spent over fifteen years working in public relations in central London including a spell at Lehman Brothers and the Royal Household. I’m also just embarking on the MTh at the University of Oxford during my formation and training at Cuddesdon.
